JEREMY PORET WINS UIM-ABP AQUABIKE GRAND PRIX OF ITALY

*Quinten Bossche takes sensational win in Moto 2

Sunday, 4 June, PORTO CESAREO (Italy): Jeremy Poret started his title defence with overall victory in the UIM-ABP Aquabike Grand Prix of Italy, but it was the young Belgian rider Quinten Boscche who stole the headlines with a brilliant win in Moto 2 on his UIM-ABP debut.

Poret looked to be on target for his second win of the weekend after storming to the front from pole position, but was chased down and passed by the Belgian on lap 3 who then disappeared off into the distance to take his maiden win on the tour by 26.28s and take second overall.

Despite pressure from older brother Mickael, Jeremy Poret held out to take second place and the Grand Prix victory, with Stian Schjetlein filling the final podium slot after finishing in fourth ahead of Morgan Poret and Raphael Maurin.
