TITLES FOR FRACASSO, SOUSA, BALZER AND BAJOLET

Monday, 5 August, VIVERONE (Italy): Title honours in the UIM-ABP Aquabike Class Pro European Championship in Viverone went to riders from Italy, Portugal and France.

In Runabout GP1 Italy completed a clean sweep of the podium with Mattia Fracasso winning both heats to take maximum points, ahead of Angelo Bertozzi and Lorenzo Benaglia tied on 36points – Bertozzi’s second place in heat 2 giving him second overall.

A second and a first place gave Portugal’s Tiago Sousa the Ski GP1 title after heat 1 winner Jeremy Poret was penalised for missing a buoy in heat 2 dropping him to fourth place and the runners-up slot ahead of Spain’s Nacho Armillas, who took top honours in GP2.

Italy’s World Champion Stefania Balzer, riding on a Portuguese license, was the standout rider in Ladies Ski GP1 taking maximum points to claim the title ahead of Slovenia’s Pija Sumer and France’s Estelle Poret.

William Bajolet grabbed the honours in Freestyle with Roberto Mariani second and Aleksandar Petrovic third.
