LEMOINE IN GOOD SHAPE AS HE LOOKS TO EXTEND CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD IN ITALY

Tuesday, 6 May: Runabout GP1 rider Cyrille Lemoine will be confident of extending his lead in the World Championship standings at the Grand Prix of Italy in Milan (5-8 June) and looks to be in good shape after winning the opening round of the French Championship in St Maxime on the weekend.

The 11-time World Champion took overall Grand Prix honours in Qatar in March and leads fellow Frenchman Teddy Pons by seven points.  Mattia Fracasso heads the Italian Challenge in seventh with countryman Lorenzo Benaglia eighth.

The 36-year-old from Lyon has been keeping in shape training alongside Ski GP1 points’ leader Jeremy Poret, the duo swapping Jet-Skis for motocross bikes, and will line up in Milan with a modified and rebuilt engine, prepared by his Team Marina4 colleagues.

The first on-water action at the Grand Prix of Italy kicks off on Thursday, 5 June at 14.00hrs [local] at Idroscalo with time-trials ahead of the evening parallel slalom and the opening of the Aquabike Music Festival.
