Sunday, 20 December, SHARJAH (UAE): Another brilliant race by Jean-Baptiste Botti to take victory in race 1 in Runabout moved the Corsican into the lead in the championship standings.

Botti was followed across the line after a race-long chase by Youssef Al Abdulrazzaq, but the Kuwaiti rider was penalised a lap for not maintaining his line at the start, elevating Waleed Al Sharshani to second and title challenger Jeremy Perez to third.

Thamer Al Darwish, who led the points table going into the race, hit trouble mid race and saw his title hopes dim, struggling around the circuit to finish in 16^th but missing out on points.

The title race is now a four rider race, Botti, Perez, Al Darwish and Abdulrazzaq.
