Sunday, 21 June, ROSES, GIRONA (Spain): Nacho Armillas turned the tables on race rival and heat 1 winner Raphael Maurin to take overall victory in Ski GP2 in Roses after a convincing win in heat 2.
The 22-year-old Spaniard led the nine rider line up from start-to-finish to take the chequered flag with a massive 36 second cushion to secure victory and take the lead in the European Championship standings.
Behind the race leader Maurin left it until the penultimate set of buoys on the final lap before finally getting past Markus Lutsokert to take second place and tie Armillas on points, the heat 2 win for Armillas giving him the event title, third overall going to Valentin Augis
Overall victory in Ski GP3 went to double heat winner Gabor Szabo with Alec Enderli and Nycolas Olivin trading heat wins in the junior category, the overall win going to Enderli, Andre Barbosa in third.
