Wednesday, 2 August: Aquabike Promotion has announced the dates and venues for rounds 3 and 4 of the UIM-ABP Aquabike World Championship, with the series heading back to the Far East and marking its ninth year of racing in the People’s Republic of China.
An exciting double-header for the midterm stint of the 2017 world championship campaign sees the UIM-ABP tour heading back to Shanghai on the 13-15 October and to a new location, the Shanghai Auto Expo Park and five days later heads west to Quijiangchi Pool inXi’an for the first time on 20-22.
The opening two rounds of the championship in Porto Cesareo and Vieste, in Italy in June served up a feast of racing and set up a season to savour.
In runabout GP1 the anticipated three-way slug fest between defending champion Yousef Al Abdulrazzaq, James Bushell and Lars Akerblom did not disappoint and has set the tone for the months ahead.
In Ski a trio of Porets locked out the top step of the podiums, Estelle enjoying a stellar two events winning both GP titles in the Ladies division, with elder brother and defending champion Jeremy taking one, oldest brother Mickael the other.
And in the frantic world of Freestyle Slovenia’s aerial aces Rok and Nac Florjancic traded the titles, with Roberto Mariani joining them on the podiums.
