SOME NEW NAMES TOP LATEST WORLD RANKINGS

Thursday, 30 November: The latest UIM-ABP World Rankings issued after the Grand Prix of Dubai sees some new names in prime position for the prestigious year end world number slot, with the final round of the world championship taking place in Sharjah in December.

 

Portugal’s Christophe Agostinho leads the standings in Runabout GP1 with 1604 points from defending world champion Yousef Al Abdulrazzaq 33 points adrift in second and Lars Akerblom in third on 1473.

 

In Ski GP1 a second new name appears at the top with Norway’s Stian Schjetlein holding a commanding 236 point advantage over countryman Daniel Svae Anderson, with Mickael Poret currently third on 1573 points.

 

In the ladies division last year’s world number and the defending world champion and current points’ leader in the title race Emma-Nellie Ortendahl is in an unassailable position with a 618 point advantage, the fight for second and third spots between the 2017 UIM-ABP European Continental Champion Jonna Borgstrom and Estelle Poret.

 

Roberto Mariani is also in an unassailable position in Freestyle, on top and 680 points clear of Nac Florjancic and retaining the world number slot he held in 2015, with defending world champion Rok Florjancic in third.

 

The UIM-ABP World Ranking is the addition of all points allocated to a Rider for overall event results, from 1 January to 31 December, for all competitions sanctioned by the UIM and proceeding according to UIM Aquabike rules.

 

Ranking points are awarded based on the final event results’, the category of the event, with 20% of the previous year’s accumulated points carried over.
