*Cano and Fragoso top the standings in Ski
Monday, 30 October, PORTIMAO (Portugal): Portugal’s Carlos Trutta and Filipe Filipe dominated the Runabout category to take overall and GP1 class honours in Portimao to clinch the 2017 UIM-ABP Aquabike European Endurance Championship.
The duo went into the final round with a 15 minutes plus advantage in their class and extended their margin to win by 25:39s from Roland Couhet and Arnaud Bourreau, with Michele Cadei and Stefano Ciani.
In the overall classification in round 2 Trutta and Filipe led home Spanish duo Juan Manuel Cuevas Iroz and Aitzol Arakistain Beristain to win by 3:14.999s, with France’s Thomas Favolini in third to seal top spot from Favolini, with Couhet and Bourreau third.
Class honours in GP2 went to Couhet and Bourreau, in GP 3 Favolini.
In Ski there was more Portuguese success with Vicente Cano and Sebastian Fragoso coming home in second place in round 2 to behind Matteo Valente and Diogo Barbosa to seal overall victory ahead of the round 2 winners, with Vasco Brito and Miguel Pita in third.
