Monday, 4 June: Aquabike Promotion has confirmed that the opening round of the 2018 UIM-ABP Aquabike European Championship will take place on 13-15 July in the picturesque town of Penafiel, situated in the spectacular Douro Valley in northern Portugal.
Following the success of the European Championship season-finale in 2017 the highly regarded UIM-APB European tour returns to Penafiel for three days of non-stop racing featuring Runabout GP1, GP2 and GP4, Ski GP1, GP2, GP3, Ski Veterans and Freestyle.
The event will also stage the UIM-ABP Aquabike World Championship for the junior classes, Ski GP3.2 and Ski GP3.3, the points also counting towards the UIM-ABP European Junior Championship.
A full programme starts with free practice for all classes starting at midday on Friday, 13 July followed by pole position starting at 15.20hrs.
Motos 1 & 2 start on Saturday at 09.00 hrs and 14.30hrs, with the final Motos for all classes starting 11:00hrs on Sunday.
