Friday, 1 June, OLBIA (Sardinia, Italy): Benjamin Scharff launched his bid to win this weekend’s Ski GP2 world title taking pole position with a fastest lap of 1:33.29s.
The French rider toped the times throughout the session, his fellow countryman Pierre Gilbert posting a 1:33.41 to go second fastest, Denmark’s Andreas Thiesson in third.
In GP3 Goncalo Rodrigues was in control from the start, immediately going to the top of the time sheets with a 1:42.34s opening lap, then improving towards the end of the session to seal pole position with a best time of 1:41.43s.
Barnabas Szabo went second quickest posting his best time 1:41.62s on his second flying lap, with Maxime Fry in third with 1:43.84.
