SLALOM WINS FOR ABDULRAZZAQ, ANDERSON AND ORTENDAHL

Saturday, 15 February (KUWAIT CITYT): Yousef Al Abdulrazzaq, Daniel Svae Andersen and Emma-Nellie Ortendahl each took wins in the first round of the UIM-ABP Aquabike Parallel Slalom World Championship which was held last night under floodlights, the five-pin course running beside the beach in Salmiya Bay.

In Runabout Abdulrazzaq took the win with a perfect scorecard, winning both runs against Ali Al Langawi to get to the final and then doing the same to Marcus Jorgensen in the final, Jorgensen the quickest in qualifying beating Samuel Johansson in the first round.

Anderson and Stian Schjetlein each enjoyed straight forward wins en route to their Ski final, beating Barnabas Szabo and Oliver Hansen, the final going to a deciding run with Andersen edging it 2-1.

It was an identical scenario in the Ladies, Ortendahl and Estelle Poret keeping two clean sheets to oust Jasmiin Ypraus and Sofie Borgstrom, with Ortendahl taking the final 2-1.

A qualifying session was held earlier in the day with all riders who did not go through to the final awarded points based on their times and finishing order.
