STRONG START FOR SKI GP1 CHAMPION REITERER
Thursday, 13 February,( KUWAIT CITY): Victory Team’s Kevin Reiterer made the perfect start to his 2020 championship campaign by dominating today’s qualifying session at the UIM-ABP Aquabike Grand Prix of Kuwait.
The three-time and defending Ski GP1 world champion was the standout rider of the 17 strong field topping the time sheets in both sessions, bettering his time of 1:35.91 in Q1 to take the pole with 1:33.91 in the second session.
Barnabas Szabo was the only rider of the top six to improve on his first run in Q2, knocking off his best time on his final run to move up into P2 with a 1:37.98s lap to edge out an impressive session by Mickael Poret who was running his sister’s Ski.
Nacho Armillas was another to produce a strong performance going fourth quickest ahead of Stian Schjetlein and Ulrik Berntsen, the big surprise in Q1 was 2019 championship runner-up Daniel Svae Anderssen failing to make the ten-rider cut.
