Monday, 31 January, - Otranto (Italy): Aquabike Promotion (ABP), the worldwide promoter of the UIM-ABP Aquabike World and European Championships, is very pleased to announce that the opening round of the 2022 European Season will be held in Otranto (Italy).

 

The Grand Prix of Italy will take place in the picturesque town on the south east coast of Puglia Region on 30 April- 1 May.

 

Aquabike returns to Otranto after 6 years when in 2016 the Grand Prix of Italy of UIM ABP Aquabike World Championship was held with huge succes of public.

 

“We are very happy to be back in Otranto for the second time after the warm welcome we had in June 2016 during the round of the World Championship - said Raimondo di San Germano, General Manager Aquabike Promotion - and I would like to thank all the organizers and all the people involved in this project.  I wish to mention the Municipality of the city with the Mayor Pierpaolo Cariddi, Mr.Giuseppe Risolo, President Hardwave and  Mrs Milena Maggio, FIM Regional Representative.

And of course and above all, I am grateful to the Italian Powerboat Federation (FIM) and his President Vincenzo Iaconianni who, in this difficult pandemic period,  with their work and efforts helped us to realize this round of the European Championship.

In the coming weeks we expect to confirm more and more events for the Season”.
