RACERS FROM 16 NATIONS WILL ASSEMBLE FOR ENDURANCE RACING’S RETURN IN INDONESIA

Tuesday, October 3:  Entries have now closed for endurance racing’s sensational return to the UIM-ABP World Aquabike calendar on spectacular Lake Toba in Indonesia in late November and a further nine racers have entered the three-day event to join the 16 entries that had been received a couple of weeks ago.

That means that 25 racers and competitors from 16 nations – USA, Hungary, Italy, UAE, Spain, Sweden, France, Kuwait, New Zealand, Cambodia, China, Japan, Qatar, Thailand, Saudi Arabia and Denmark - will take part in the three endurance events on November 22nd, 23rd and 24th.

Of the latest nine entrants, Salem and Yousef Al-Gethmi will represent the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, UAE International Aquabike Championship regular Salman Al-Awadhi joins Rashed Al-Tayer and Khalifa Belselah to fly the UAE flag and Qatar will be present in the form of aquabiker Khalid Jamal Al-Mohannadi. The Qatari last competed in the UIM-ABP World Championship in the 2021 Grand Prix of Kuwait.

Thailand’s Permphon Teerapatpanich makes the short trip to Sumatra, while Kristian Kuchta and Arakistain Beristain Aitzol represent Hungary and Spain, respectively. Teerapatpanich has been a regular in the WGP#1 Waterjet Offshore World Championship and the Jetski World Series in the Pro Runabout class. Kuchta, meanwhile, has taken part in recent Hungarian rounds of the UIM-ABP European Continental series in Runabout GP4.

The international field is completed by Dane Marcus Jorgensen and Melbourne-based Kiwi Cliff Ellmers. Copenhagen-based Jorgensen finished third and second in Runabout GP1 in the 2019 and 2020 UIM World Championships and won the world title last year.

Anthony Radetic, Yousef Al-Abdulrazzaq, Rashed Al-Dawas. François Medori, Jean-Bruno Pastorello, Gyorgy Kasza, Cseke Zsolt, Alejandro Molina Miranda, Johan Johansson, Ou Moeut Saly, Chen Shan, Hajime Isahai, Kylie Ellmers and Michele Cadei had already registered alongside Al-Tayer and Belselah.
