Friday, July 19: Twenty Runabout GP1, 24 Ski GP1, 15 Runabout GP2, nine Ski GP2, 13 Ski GP3, six Ski GP4, nine Runabout GP4, 11 Runabout Ladies GP4, 14 Runabout GP4, five Freestyle, a pair of Ski Juniors GP3.2, seven GP1 Ski Juniors Ski 3.3, five Runabout Veterans and seven Ski Ladies GP4 bikers will compete for honours in this weekend’s opening round of the 2024 UIM-ABP European Continental Aquabike Championship in the Hungarian city of Győr.

Competitors went through the customary administration and scrutineering checks on Thursday before the on-water action gets underway on Friday morning.

Meanwhile, Hungarian racer Kristián Kuchta, who was injured in a freak accident during a Runabout GP1 Moto at last month’s Regione Sardegna Grand Prix of Italy in Olbia, has now been released from hospital and is hoping to stop and greets his collegues this weekend’s in Győr. His sister Monika Kuchtová set up a fund-raising campaign to finance his air transfer from Sardinia to Bratislava and that was well supported by the aquabiking community at the time.
