Tuesday, July 30 - The second round of the European Aquabike Championship, held in Vichy, concluded with resounding success. The event saw an impressive turnout of both spectators and participants.
A record number of riders have registered for the Grand Prix, with an impressive total of more than 122 pilots, so much so that in Ski GP1, with 24 riders entered, it was necessary to hold pre-qualifications.
The Grand Prix of Vichy also hosted the single stage of the European Endurance Championship, where 16 riders competed in the strength and resistance category.
The French rider Francois Medori made it to the podium in both Endurance GP1 and Runabout Circuit GP1 while Oliver Koch Hansen wins Ski GP1 Grand Prix and Estonia’s Jasmiin Ypraus secures Ski Ladies GP1 victory in Vichy
Serbian racer Slobodan Sobic won the European Endurance crown in GP2, while Frenchman Pierre-Marie Vincentellisecured the GP3 European title.
Belgian Yoni Hamelin, Czech Petr Dryjak, Frenchman Baptiste Calmels, Italian girl Ilaria Vanni, Montenegrin Mio Petrovic, Lithuania’s Grantas Gurkšnys and Hungary’s Csongor Jászai clinched Grand Prix victories in the Ski GP3, Runabout GP4, Ski GP4, Runabout GP4 Ladies, Ski Junior 3.3, Runabout GP4 Junior and Ski GP2 categories.
World Champion Roberto Mariani of Italy prevailed in the Freestyle category.
Following the success of last week’s opening round of the championship in Gyor, Hungary, which was praised by everyone for its organization, Vichy thus confirms the growth of the Aquabike European Continental Championship.

Two Portuguese officials from the final round of the European Championship were present in Vichy last weekend. Tiago Cruz and Bruno Alcaide were introduced to the riders at Sunday morning’s briefing.
The coastal town of Mira, located in the Gândara region south of Porto, will host the final round of the UIM-ABP European Continental Aquabike Championship on September 27th-29th.
