Thursday, September 26: The final entry list for this weekend’s Grand Prix of Mira in Portugal includes more than 100 riders from 18 nations, who will do battle on a well-crafted and challenging race course off Barrinha Beach in Praia de Mira to decide the outcome of this year’s UIM-ABP European Continental Aquabike Championship.
Entries have continued to filter in over recent days for the three-day aquabiking showdown at this stunning Portuguese location and Aquabike Promotion and the host FPM and Local Organizer are delighted that a bumper field will start their engines on Friday morning for the first of the free practice and pole positions sessions across the various race categories. Registration and technical scrutineering took place throughout Thursday.
Portugal has a long tradition of organising top class aquabike races and event officials have prepared meticulously for this world class event, which gets underway with a drivers’ briefing at 08.00hrs on Friday morning and then free practice for the Ski GP3, Runabout GP4, Ski GP4, Runabout GP4 Ladies, Ski Junior, Runabout GP4 Junior and Freestyle categories from 09.00hrs onwards.
