Thursday, June 26 - With little over a week until racing commences for the next round of the Aquabike European Continental Championship in Mira, Portugal, the provisional entry list has already reached almost 100 riders ready to descend upon the Atlantic coast.
This follows the mighty turnout for the first round of the 2025 season for the Grand Prix of Poland, in which well over 100 riders competed across all categories.
As expected, most of the riders who topped the standings in Poland have already confirmed their attendance for the Grand Prix of Mira, as they aim to keep up their momentum and rack up more points for the Championship standings.
These include the victorious French duo of Jessica Chavanne and Jérémy Perez, who won the Ski Ladies GP1 and Runabout GP1 respectively.
Virgine Morlaes, who came a close second in the Ski Ladies GP1, has also confirmed her attendance, setting up the category for another fiercely competitive weekend of racing.
The full podium for the last Freestyle race have confirmed their attendance, meaning Roberto Mariani, Massimo Accumulo, and Paolo Nunes will once again be battling it out in spectacular style in Mira.
The Grand Prix of Mira will also see some faces who were absent in Poland making their season debut, including multiple-time European and UIM World Champion Jeremy Poret, who will be hoping to emulate the success of his brother Mickael Poret, who topped the Ski GP1 category in Poland.
Even more riders are set to confirm their attendance in Mira in the coming days, with all category lists having already seen registrations.
This will be the second year in a row that the European Championship takes place in Mira, which last year closed out the European Championship and saw a host of tightly contested races to crown that season’s champions.
This year’s Grand Prix of Mira will take place on the 4th to 6th of July, with the final rider registrations taking place on Thursday the 3rd.
