Thursday, August 7: As riders make their final preparations to jet off to Indonesia, work is well underway to welcome competitors and guests alike for this year’s Grand Prix of Indonesia in Lake Toba.
Aquabike will be returning to the scenic volcanic lake for the third year in a row, with both the Endurance and Pro Circuit World Championships taking place. Both competitions will be held in Balige, on the southern edge of Lake Toba, and a familiar fixture from previous years of racing.
The lakeside paddock is currently being assembled in Balige, ready to welcome riders for registration for the Endurance Championship on Tuesday, August 12. This will be followed by three days of Endurance races, on Wednesday, Thursday, and culminating on Friday the 15th.
Immediately following the end of the Endurance Championship, Aquabike action will continue with this year’s opening round of the Pro Circuit World Championship. Rider registration will open on Thursday the 14th, with racing taking place on the subsequent Saturday and Sunday, bringing a close to Aquabike racing in Indonesia for yet another year.
But Balige will continue to see racing action after Aquabike racing has concluded, as it is the same location that will be hosting the opening fixture of the F1H2O World Championships the following week.
